Catholic Health’s St. Charles Hospital has appointed Dawn Keiley, MHA, BSN, RN, CHEP, CHSP, its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). In this role, Ms. Keiley will lead the hospital’s nursing department to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in alignment with the hospital and Catholic Health’s mission, vision and values. 

Renowned in the nursing field, Ms. Keiley has more than 30 years of experience in clinical and administrative nursing, with extensive knowledge of direct patient care, team building, nursing leadership and crisis management. Over the course of her career, she has demonstrated outstanding success in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, clinical programs and services to promote patient wellness.

“We are very fortunate to have Ms. Keiley as part of St. Charles’ executive leadership team,” said Gary Havican, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Catholic Health. “I am confident her expertise will further enhance St. Charles in its mission to provide the highest level of care to residents of the Port Jefferson community.”

Prior to joining Catholic Health, Ms. Keiley held several roles at Mount Sinai South Nassau, including her most recent position as Senior Director of Nursing for Behavioral Health and Medical-Surgical Operations, in which she directed all aspects of nursing operations and administrative oversight.

Ms. Keiley received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and a Master of Health Administration from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Nurses Association, the New York Organization for Nursing Leadership, the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the International Association of Healthcare Professionals.
