In her role as a clinical educator for Good Samaritan University Hospital’s Nursing Education Program, Beth Bents, RN, mentors nurses and nursing assistants, as well as ancillary staff.

She enthusiastically shares the latest, most innovative procedures with nursing units and classrooms, guiding staff on how to integrate them in daily practice. She plays a key role in helping new nurses feel confident and prepared, easing uncertainty by showing how innovation drives excellent patient care.

“I’m dedicated to ensuring fellow nurses have the tools they need to provide an exemplary patient experience,” said Beth.

According to a colleague, “Beth freely gives her time to empower nurses to learn skills and demonstrate their competence in their individual way. Her experience in her years of practice is a classic example of being able to inspire others.”

Beth extends her support beyond her assigned adult medical-surgical units, readily assisting nurses during a crisis and volunteering for emergent situations where her expertise is invaluable. At her night shift Clinical Practice Committee meetings, she brings together nurses from across the hospital to share and learn from one another,  demonstrating the true art of nursing.
