St. Francis Heart Center Accredited HEARTSafe Designation

Become a designated HEARTSafe community or organization and help save lives.

A HEARTSafe designation is a formal recognition awarded to communities, schools, or workplaces that have taken proactive steps to improve survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest.

This designation recognizes the efforts and preparation to recognize when someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest and how to respond. Any town, school, or organization on Long Island can apply for the HEARTSafe designation from St. Francis Heart Center and the American Heart Association.

The Catholic Health Emergency Services Team will work with you and your organization to achieve three key goals:

  • Widespread CPR Training – Educating people to take action in emergencies
  • Accessible AEDs - Placing defibrillators in public spaces for rapid response
  • Advanced Resuscitation Protocols – Training first responders on best practices
