St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center Once Again Earns Five-Star Rating from CMS

For the sixth consecutive year, Catholic Health’s St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center earned a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as part of the federal agency’s 2025 Star Quality Rating System.

CMS created the Star Quality Rating System to provide consumers with a federal government evaluation of the quality and safety of U.S. hospitals, allowing for better-informed decision-making when seeking health care services. To calculate its 2025 ratings, CMS evaluated hospitals across 46 quality measures divided into five categories: Mortality, Safety, Readmission, Patient Experience and Timely & Effective Care. By earning a five-star rating, St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center once again ranks among the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide for quality and patient safety.

St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center was also recently ranked as one of the best hospitals in the nation in seven adult specialties—Cardiology & Heart Surgery; Diabetes & Endocrinology; Gastroenterology & GI Surgery; Geriatrics; Orthopedics; Pulmonology & Lung Surgery; and Urology—by U.S. News & World Report on its 2025-26 “Best Hospitals” list.
