Roslyn hospital remains region’s only ACC HeartCARE Center™
For the fourth year in a row, Catholic Health’s St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center has been awarded HeartCARE Center™ designation by The American College of Cardiology (ACC). The Roslyn hospital remains the only ACC HeartCARE Center™ in the region (including the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island and Westchester County) and is one of only two New York facilities to hold the designation.
The HeartCARE Center™ National Distinction of Excellence recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate the highest commitment to quality, safety and continuous process improvement. Facilities that achieve this distinction excel in professional excellence, community engagement and adherence to national, evidence-based clinical guidelines, showcasing their dedication to delivering exceptional, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center earned the HeartCARE Center™ National Distinction of Excellence by meeting rigorous criteria and demonstrating consistent high performance through registry reporting. St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center is also the only hospital on Long Island with an ACC-accredited Cardiac Catheterization Lab and ACC-certified Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program. Additionally, it is Nassau County’s only hospital accredited as an ACC Chest Pain Center with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).
“Our cardiovascular team consistently strives to lead on the global stage, innovating new procedures and providing our patients with the most advanced treatments available,” said Charles Lucore, MD, MBA, president of St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center. “Our fourth consecutive HeartCARE designation reflects our team’s unwavering dedication to quality and safety. This encapsulates the top tier, empathetic care our Catholic Health patients rely on.”
In addition to HeartCARE Center™ accreditation, St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center recently earned its sixth consecutive 5-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), its 26th Leapfrog “A” score for hospital safety (the most of any hospital in New York State), and was ranked among the top hospitals in the country for 2025-26 by U.S. News & World Report. St. Francis also obtained its fifth consecutive Magnet designation for nursing excellence, including the first Magnet with Distinction status ever conferred upon a New York State hospital, placing it among the top 1% of hospitals for nursing nationwide.
