St. Francis Heart Center Expands at Mercy Hospital

Catholic Health’s St. Francis Heart Center is expanding by opening a dedicated suite within the Ryan Medical Building on the Mercy Hospital campus.

The nationally ranked cardiovascular services of the St. Francis Heart Center have been available to Mercy Hospital patients for several years, but this development is taking patient convenience to the next level. As part of Catholic Health, St. Francis and Mercy collaborate closely to deliver exceptional care and ensure the best health outcomes for Long Island patients.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for cardiac patients to consult with the best cardiologists on Long Island,” said Mercy Hospital President Joseph Manopella. “St. Francis Heart Center will now have four practices conveniently located on the same floor, including preventive cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation and cardiac surgery.” 

The new suite of cardiovascular services enhances accessibility with convenient parking and streamlined wayfinding for patients in and around Rockville Centre.

“We started our close association with Mercy Hospital a few years back by first deploying a new Cardiac Catheterization Lab and opening a Chest Pain Unit, bringing our highly regarded precision angioplasties to patients in the area,” said Richard Shlofmitz, MD,  Chairman of Cardiology at St. Francis. “Over time, we’ve continued to expand our services at Mercy. Now, our top cardiologists and dedicated teams have a unified base of operations to provide exceptional cardiac care to patients on Nassau’s south shore.”

The St. Francis Heart Center at the Ryan Building, Suite 108, is home to Dr. Thierry Duchatellier, Dr. Jason Sherer, Dr. Maulik Patel and Dr. Anupriya Ganguly.
