Good Samaritan University Hospital has been designated a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) by the American College of Radiology® (ACR®), recognizing the hospital's commitment to the highest standards of quality imaging, diagnostic care and patient safety.

The DICOE designation represents the pinnacle of medical imaging and goes beyond traditional accreditation to recognize best-in-class imaging practices and diagnostic care. The distinction reflects a comprehensive assessment of the hospital's entire medical imaging enterprise, including its structure, outcomes, professional staff, technology, policies, procedures and commitment to superior patient care.

“Being named an ACR Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the expertise, dedication and commitment of our imaging team,” said President of Good Samaritan University Hospital Justin Lundbye, MD, MBA, FACHE. “This recognition reinforces our commitment to providing our patients with exceptional diagnostic care, access to advanced technology and the highest standards of quality and safety, right here in our community.”

To receive the DICOE designation, facilities must meet rigorous criteria established by the ACR®. This includes holding ACR® accreditation in all imaging modalities for which the organization offers an accreditation program. Facilities must also participate in two ACR® National Radiology Data Registries (NRDR), as well as Image Wisely® and Image Gently®.

The designation recognizes excellence at multiple levels of medical imaging, including the qualifications and expertise of professional staff, the quality and capabilities of imaging technology, organizational policies and procedures, and the delivery of safe, high-quality diagnostic care.

“This prestigious designation is another example of Good Samaritan University Hospital's ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement,” said Dr. Lundbye. “Our patients depend on us for accurate, timely diagnoses that help guide their care, and this recognition demonstrates the high level of excellence our imaging professionals bring to that responsibility every day.”

The ACR® DICOE designation adds to Good Samaritan University Hospital's growing list of quality and clinical distinctions and reflects the hospital's commitment to advancing patient care through innovation, technology and evidence-based practices.

Founded in 1924, the ACR® is a 42,000-member medical association that advances patient care, medical practice and collaborative results through advocacy, quality standards, research and education. For more information, visit www.acr.org.
