Jeffrey Moses

Catholic Health’s Good Samaritan University Hospital has appointed renowned interventional cardiologist Jeffrey Moses, MD, its new Chairman of Cardiology. Dr. Moses will oversee the West Islip hospital’s Theresa Patnode Santmann Division of Cardiology and the St. Francis Heart Center at Good Samaritan University Hospital.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Moses has performed more than 30,000 interventional procedures, authored more than 600 peer-reviewed publications, and led numerous pivotal national and international clinical studies. Notably, he served as the lead investigator of the landmark U.S. clinical trial that demonstrated the significant benefits of drug-eluting stents, leading to their FDA approval. This technology has since been adopted into the vast majority of interventional procedures nationwide.

Dr. Moses also played a key leadership role on the Executive Committee of the PARTNER trial, which introduced the nation’s first transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure to clinical practice, a breakthrough that revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis and transformed the field of structural heart interventions.

Good Samaritan University Hospital is the flagship Suffolk County hospital and tertiary care hub for Catholic Health, providing premier services across its continuum of care. The hospital is home to the Gary H. Richard and Family Stroke & Brain Aneurysm Center of Long Island, Verified Adult Level 1 and Pediatric Level 2 trauma centers, the St. Francis Heart Center and the Catholic Health Cancer Institute at Good Samaritan University Hospital. The hospital’s $500 million Patient Care Pavilion—which will feature a new emergency department, state-of-the-art operating rooms and private patient rooms—is slated to open later this year, further enhancing its capacity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
