In response to the crisis in Ukraine, Catholic Health is donating more than $300,000 worth of desperately needed medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to the U.S. Ukraine Foundation. This humanitarian effort is in collaboration with other providers of the Greater New York Hospital Association.
“Always guided by our Catholic Health mission and core values, we walk in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and pray for a swift and peaceful resolution to this violent and unwarranted incursion,” said Catholic Health President and CEO Patrick O’Shaughnessy, DO. “We are particularly mindful of our patients and their loved ones as well as our colleagues of Ukrainian descent, offering our prayers and sympathies.”
In addition to Catholic Heath’s donation, the Most Reverend Bishop John O. Barres has authorized a voluntary special collection across Long Island at the parishes. Catholic Health encourages those who would like to support this effort to mail donations directly to the diocese.
Checks should be made out to the Diocese of Rockville Centre, with the memo line reading Ukraine collection. Monies will be sent by the diocese to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to provide food and shelter to Ukrainians most impacted by this horrendous war.
