Diagnostic tests include:
- Mammography – Uses X-ray imaging to view and take pictures of breast tissue.
- Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D-Mammography) with Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) – Uses low dose X-rays that create sharp images to view the breast tissue.
- Breast MRI - Uses magnetic resonance imaging to create detailed images of the breast.
- Breast Ultrasound – A non-invasive technique that uses high frequency sound waves to view breast tissue.
- Biopsy - A procedure using a fine needle to remove a sample of breast tissue for testing.
- MRI-guided breast biopsy - Uses magnetic resonance imaging to assist with a biopsy to evaluate breast tissue.
- Stereotactic Breast Biopsy (X-ray-guided biopsy) - Uses three dimensional positioning of the biopsy needle to obtain tissue samples.
- Ultrasound-guided Breast Biopsy – Uses ultrasound guidance to assist with a biopsy.
- Pelvic Ultrasound - A non-invasive technique that uses high frequency sound waves to view the pelvis.
- Sonohysterography - A test that uses ultrasound and sterile saline solution to view the uterus and pelvic area.
