Fatty Liver Disease Program at St. Charles Hospital

About one in three adults have Metabolic Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) and may not know it. The good news is that liver damage is reversible if caught early.

If you are overweight, diabetic, have high blood pressure and/or high cholesterol, you are at risk of having fatty liver disease. Evaluations are available for adults and children (over 16 years of age). Christopher Tomaino, MD, board-certified gastroenterologist, leads St. Charles’ Fatty Liver Disease Program and offers patients a comprehensive liver evaluation that includes:

  • Ultrasound
  • Five-minute Fibro scan
  • Dietary consultation
