More Than a Century of Compassion. A Future Defined by Innovation

For more than 100 years, Catholic Health's Mercy Hospital has been a trusted part of the Rockville Centre community, caring for generations of Long Island families through life's most important moments. Today, Mercy is experiencing a remarkable renaissance, driven by significant investments, nationally recognized quality, advanced technology, and expanded access to specialized care.

In 2026, Mercy earned an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group and a CMS Five-Star Overall Hospital Quality Rating, placing the hospital among an elite group of hospitals nationwide recognized for excellence in quality, patient safety, and clinical outcomes. These achievements reflect years of investment, innovation, and the dedication of Mercy's physicians, nurses, and staff. Mercy has also earned ANCC Pathway to Excellence® designation, is advancing on its Journey to Magnet® designation, and has received national recognition for excellence in emergency and critical care.

The Patient Experience

Across the campus, Mercy has transformed the patient experience through major investments, including the Catholic Health Cancer Center at Mercy Hospital, a new Family Care Center, a renovated Breast Center, modernized Pre-Surgical Testing and Pain Management centers, and continued expansion of outpatient services and physician practices.

Innovation

Innovation continues to shape the future of care at Mercy. Through the nationally recognized St. Francis Heart Center at Mercy Hospital, patients have access to world-class cardiovascular physicians, advanced cardiac catheterization (cath lab) and electrophysiology (EP) services close to home. Mercy's robotic surgery program has rapidly expanded since launching in 2021, surpassing 3,000 robotic procedures in July 2026 and remaining on pace to exceed 4,000 procedures next year.

Mercy is also home to the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on the South Shore of Long Island and the South Shore's largest dedicated inpatient acute rehabilitation program. Together with comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services, advanced stroke care, behavioral health, women's health, and specialized surgical expertise, Mercy continues to bring nationally recognized care closer to the communities it serves.
